“Be thankful for everything that happens in your life; it’s all an experience.”
― Roy T. Bennett
This post is personal. I apologize for this but I need to share my joy. I passed a milestone in my life today that I didn’t think was possible after what I’ve been through since August 2017.
I have gone six months without being in the hospital!
I have been in the hospital six times since August 2017. It all started with a non-cancerous tumor on my brain stem. Though I am tumor-free now, the neurosurgery left me totally deaf in my left ear and I am dizzy 24/7 which is mostly under control with medication.
In January 2018, I had an acute pancreatitis attack that had me in the Intensive Care Unit for 10 days and in the hospital for three weeks. I am now living with chronic pancreatitis. This condition has had me hospitalized four times since January 2018.
Finally, I was diagnosed in March 2018 with a condition in which my body is producing four times the amount of calcium than normal. Though mostly controlled with massive amounts of medication to absorb the excess calcium my body cannot throw off, the damage caused by kidney stones caused me to lose the function of my right kidney.
As you can well imagine, I am thrilled and grateful to have passed six months without needing hospitalization.
Thank you for putting up with my personal ills and joining me in my joy!
